At the end of the day, you will not remember the person with the most beautiful face, but you will remember the person with the most beautiful heart and soul. -Carl Fredrickson, UP
Our hearts are broken to hear of the passing of Ed Asner. He was a inspiration to us and we were so looking forward to working with him. More information will be sent out later in regards to our plans for our show, but today, we celebrate the life of Ed Asner.

Announcement:
Our hearts were broken last week when it was announced that Ed Asner had passed. Not only are we mourning the loss of a legend, but we have had to make some very hard decisions that no one wants to make. With that being said, over the last week, our team has made the decision to cancel our production of God Help US! This was not an easy decision, but one that we feel is the best way to move forward. All tickets that have previously been purchased will be refunded 100% and will be processed through EventBrite.
Thank you to Mr. Asner, Mitch, Liza, Duane, Melody and the rest of our production team for all of your hard work and dedication to RHCR.
We never know what the future will bring, and even if we didn't get to see GOD HELP US! through to the end, it will always be a fantastic adventure for RHCR. When God closes one door, He opens another one right? On to our next greatest adventure!

September 30th marked the end of our time in our brick and mortar building at 1200 2nd Ave SE. The theatre building may be dark, and our future uncertain, BUT because we have so much and people to be thankful for, we know that there is a bright and beautiful adventure ahead of us!
When we first moved into our venue in the summer of 2018, who could have known all the amazing things we would be able to do in this building? We started out with our first production, Beauty and the Beast and ended with 5 Women Wearing the Same Dress, with so many others in between! Our children's musical, Frozen, in the summer of 2019 was the first time Frozen had been performed locally. Our teen show, The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon won the 2019 Outstanding Award for Excellence from the Iowa Community Theatre Association! The cast of our production of The Odd Couple (The Female version) was nominated that same year for best ensemble in a play, and and one of our own was nominated for best supporting actor in play. But we didn't just see plays in the building. We saw friendships formed, we saw skills learned, we saw new talents shine, but most importantly, we saw a love for the theatre grow.
Thank you to everyone who donated boxes, time, blood (literal and figurative, but thankfully only a few small injuries!), sweat (it was so hot that first weekend!), and laughter (laughter is ALWAYS the best medicine!) over the last few weekends. We couldn't have done it with out you.
While our feet may have left what we called home, 1200 2nd Ave SE will always have a piece of our hearts. On to our next great adventure!

Four years ago, amidst a global pandemic, we had to shut our doors for the foreseeable future...not knowing what our future, or anyone else's held.
18 months later, we made the heart wrenching decision to give up our building with the hope and prayers that we would soon have a clear direction in this crazy journey we call 'life'.
Since then, we have been dipping our toes in the water.....and with the success and your encouragement of our Christmas shows and our production of The Rocky Horror Show last fall......WE ARE READY TO ANNOUNCE...THAT WE'VE TAKEN THE LEAP AND....
DRUM ROLL PLEASE.................
WE HAVE SIGNED A RESIDENCY WITH CSPS!
Our residency agreement opens a world of opportunities and possibilities for RHCR and we are so excited for the future! CSPS located in the historic CSPS Hall, shares our passion for fostering theatre, music and the arts in our community, and with such a supportive partner by our side, the future looks incredibly bright for RHCR. Here's to the beginning of an exciting new chapter filled with creativity, collaboration and continued success!
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!
WE HAVE A FANTASTIC SEASON PLANNED...JUST FOR YOU!
But.......you are going to have to wait just a little bit longer for that announcement......be on the lookout for our season announcement later this week! (You didn't think I was going to give you all the fun surprises in one day did you?)
