    13! The Musical

    13-THE MUSICAL

    ==========

    Directed by: Will Asmus

    August 2-11

    "13" is a vibrant and energetic musical that follows the story of Evan Goldman, a young boy navigating the challenges of adolescence as he prepares to celebrate his bar mitzvah. Set against the backdrop of middle school, Evan grapples with issues of friendship, peer pressure, and identity as he tries to find his place in the social hierarchy.

    "13" captures the essence of teenage angst and the universal desire to belong while also embracing individuality. The characters, from the geek to the jock to the beauty queen, each have their own unique struggles and aspirations, making for a relatable and entertaining coming-of-age story.

    "13" reminds audiences that true acceptance comes from being authentic to oneself, even if it means standing out from the crowd. It's a celebration of diversity, friendship, and the journey of self-discovery that resonates with audiences of all ages.

    "I feel like my whole life is a dumpster fire and I’m only 12. I don’t even have a life yet."

    ==========

    Directed by: Carrie Tinkham

    September 6-14

    This beloved play beautifully captures the dynamics and relationships among the women who frequent Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana. The witty banter, heartfelt moments, and underlying themes of love and resilience make it a timeless classic. The characters, from the sassy Truvy to the cantankerous Ouiser, each bring their own unique charm to the story. And while the play navigates through both humorous and poignant moments, it ultimately delves into the profound bonds of friendship and the strength that arises in the face of adversity.

    “An ounce of pretension is worth a pound of manure.”

    ==========

    Directed by: Scot Hughes

    November 1-10

    "A Few Good Men" is a gripping legal drama that delves into themes of honor, loyalty, and the pursuit of justice within the context of the military. The story follows the defense team, as they take on the case of two Marines accused of murdering a fellow soldier. As they dig deeper into the circumstances surrounding the incident, they uncover evidence of a broader conspiracy and a code of conduct known as "Code Red."

    A Few Good Men explores the tensions between following orders and questioning authority, as well as the moral dilemmas faced by those serving in the military. The characters grapple with issues of accountability and the ethical responsibilities that come with their roles.
